About Rishikesh: The Holy Place

In ancient times its name was Hrishikesh, which was the form in which Lord Vishnu appeared to remunerate Raibhya Rishi for the penance performed by him. Afterwards this place became popular by the name Rishikesh.

The most famous places to visit here are Trayambakeshwar Temple, Bharat Mandir, Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula and so on.

The best time to visit this wonderful place is March and April. For the one who is crazy for River Rafting can visit, between September and November.

Haridwar: It is situated approx 18 km away from Rishikesh. It is also a sacred place. It lies on the bank of River Ganga.

Shivpuri: It is near to Rishikesh and Haridwar as well. It is approx 19 km away from them.It is also an adventurous place for the river sports lovers.

Lakshman Jhula: It is very long bridge around 450 feet long. It is made up of iron but earlier it was of jute. It is named after Lakshman, younger brother of Shri Ram.

Triveni Ghat: It is a convergence of three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
